Financial aid will be different this year. The government is not sending high schools the FAFSA forms. If you want to do a paper copy, it will have to be downloaded from the internet. Also, all applicants are encouraged to do the form online, because the turn-around time is so much shorter. Reminder, these applications should be finished as soon after January 1 as possible.
In its second year the new federal program known as the Academic Competitiveness Grant (ACG) is helping more college students with college expenses. To be eligible students must be Pell eligible and need to have taken 4 years of English, 3 years of Math (Algebra and higher), 3 years of social science, 3 years of science (Including Biology; Chemistry or Physics), and 1 year foreign language. Make sure you keep this grant in mind when enrolling for college.
