The following pictures are not to scale. They were enlarged to show detail of the monarch caterpillars as they pupated and became a chrysallis. These caterpillars were brought in, fed milkweed leaves, observed, and measured as they grew. After they emergy from the chrysallis, they will again be observed, tagged, and released for their migration southward.
