BUSINESS MATH

As students reinforce their basic math skills, they will be exposed to practical business applications. Commision, taxes, banking services, credit services, wise spending, insurance, and sales and marketing will be used as a basis for the class. Students won't have to ask the question, "Where am I ever going to use this?" because they will realize that they are already using the concepts that are introduced to them.

Expectations for the students:

1. Students will respect each other and their surroundings. Interfering with other students physically or verbally will not be tolerated, nor will interference with any lab projects in the classroom be tolerated.
2. Students will come to class prepared to learn. Bring the text, a notebook or loose leaf paper, pen/pencils, and a calculator. (If a calculator is needed and you do not have one, you will do the computations mentally. A calculator will not be provided for you. A simple calculator is the best choice.)
3. Assignments are due at the beginning of the class. NO LATE ASSIGNMENTS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
   
4. Copying a classmate's work does not help in reinforcing the concepts presented. All parties involved in the cheating will earn zeroes on any assignment or test in which copying is involved.
5. Assignments will be placed in the appropriate shelf of the assignment stack and can be retrieved from the corresponding shelf after they have been graded and recorded.
6. Students will cover and maintain the cover of their textbook.

1. The teacher will be prepared for a learning experience each day.
2. The teacher will respect the students.
3. The teacher will grade and return assignments, tests, and quizzes in a timely manner, usually by the next day.)
