Expectations for Middle School & High School Chorus
1. Students are required to participate in all performances throughout the school year.
a. An absence is automatically excused only if the student is absent from school on the day of the performance. In the case of a family emergency, or if the student gets sick after school, a note or phone call from a parent or guardian will excuse the student. An excused absence means the student will receive 90% of the concert grade. The other 10% can be earned by extra credit work. An unexcused absence means the student will receive 0% of the concert grade.  It is the responsibility of the student to ask the teacher for extra credit assignments.
b. Working students must get a performance schedule to their bosses at the beginning of the year. Missing a performance because of work will not be excused.
2. Students are required to participate actively during rehearsals to the best of their ability. The following infractions will result in losing points off the daily participation grade.
a. Please do not work on homework during rehearsals unless it is sectional day and your section is not rehearsing.
b. Please do not chew gum or eat snacks during rehearsal.
c. Please do not talk to your friends during songs or when the director is talking to the group.

Grading Policy

*Daily Attendance - 20%

*Rehearsal Behavior and Attitude - 45%

*Concert Attendance - 30%

*Concert Evaluation Form - 5%

Extra Credit will be given to those who participate in small groups, or sing for other activities in school or community.
