Class Expectations

American Government, World Geography, and Prep Expectations 2005-2006

1) Be on Time
2) Be Prepared
3) Be Courteous

THESE ARE THREE THINGS THAT I EXPECT FROM EACH ONE OF YOU AND I BELIEVE THAT YOU SHOULD EXPECT THESE THINGS FROM YOURSELF AS WELL.

GRADING SCALE: SAME AS STATED IN YOUR HANDBOOK.

GRADES: All grades are based on points. Point totals are given to quizzes, daily assignments, projects, typed papers and tests. With tests, the point total will be weighed twice since tests are a major grade. If we do have a semester test, it will count no more than 20% of the total grade.
*No retakes will be given. Take time and prepare for your tests and quizzes.

NEATNESS: Everything that is turned in needs to be neat and readable. If I can't decipher what you have turned in, I cannot give it a grade. If you writing is poor, hand in the work typed.

BEHAVIOR: Proper behavior and attitude is very important in any working environment. Please participate in a positive way. If for some reason a student's behavior is unacceptable, that student will be removed from class and lose 10% of their grade for the quarter. I treat this as an unexcused absence. This loss in points may be made up doing extra work approved by me.

LATE ASSIGNMENTS: Assignments are due at the beginning of class unless otherwise stated. Late assignments are counted as ZEROS. Working on the assignment in class prior to the bell ringing is considered late.

TARDIES: Be here on time. If you have more than three tardies a detention be assigned.

MAKEUP WORK: When you are gone you miss out on a lot. If you are gone for an extended amount of time, an acceptable time table for making up the class work will be arranged by you and I. Work not made up will result in ZEROS. This counts for quizzes and tests. (**Remember: ZEROS ARE BAD) If you are to be gone, I will assign work in the form of a report on a topic selected by me. This is being handed in before I will sign blue slips of pre-excused slips and it will be typed. The report will be a minimum of 250 words in length. If no report is turned in, a grade of ZERO is recorded.

EXTRA HELP: IF YOU NEED EXTRA HELP, YOU NEED TO COME IN AND SEE ME! THE BEST POSSIBLE TIME IS BEFORE SCHOOL. AFTER SCHOOL IS A RATHER BUSY TIME FOR ME FROM NOW UNTIL MARCH. ARRANGEMENTS FOR EXTRA HELP NEED TO BE MADE AHEAD OF TIME.
