AMERICAN GOVERNMENT/MODERN PROBLEMS

This course is a year course in which American Government and Modern Problems are incorporated to form a more balanced course. The historical foundation of our Constitution, civil rights, three branches, crime and punishment are studied. Along with this is the studying of the current status of the United States by tracing changes in society through the last half of the 20th century to the present. The students are required to attend four different government meetings throughout the year.

Prerequisite: None
Prep is recommended for any student who desires to improve study skills, comprehension, rate and vocabulary. Preparation for the ACT and SAT are covered. ACT, Rate, and Vocabulary are done on computer.
GEOGRAPHY
Grades: 10-12
Length: Semester
Prerequisite: None
Geography is a one-semester course covering both physical and cultural geography. Map reading, geographic terms and learning of map locations are covered.
