Grades: 10-12
Length: 2 Semesters
Prerequisite: One Year Consumer Ed
Entrepreneurship is a course that will expose students to all aspects of a real business operation. This is a hands on experience class. Students will write business plans, develop and maintain accurate bookkeeping records, write publicity articles, and create advertisement. Students will develop skills in human relations, (scheduling traing of employees) and public relations (customer service, informational presentations) necessary in the operation of a successful business. Students will be actively involved in operating the Gateway Theatre, located in downtown Albion. They will share in the ownership responsibilities on a volunteer basis. The educational experience is the student's pay for working and is a great share of their class grade. Students are expected to participate actively and will be subjectively graded by the overseeing teachers for this part of their class grade. Each student will have a little different exerience in his/hers class. The more the student involves himself the more they will learn as an entrepreneur.
