Sketch Book Assignments
Two sketches will be due at the end of each week. Each Tuesday will used for working on sketch books during class. I have given you a point of departure for developing ideas for future projects. Sketches are to drawn using pencil or pen and must be shaded to give it form and shape.

Grade Outline for 8th Art

Individual Grading Components Percent

Studio Projects -These are weekly projects assigned over the semester that will cover a wide range of mediums. The longer the project, the more weight is given toward your grade. Test Grades are given under this category.
Projects this semester will include - 40%
Elements and principles
Basic drawing skills
Watercolor / Acrylic Painting
Pastel & Colored Pencil
Pewter Casting / Basic clay methods

Sketch book - 20%
Two sketches will be due each week to help with developing ideas. Students are encouraged to work on their sketch book at home to provide for more time to work on studio projects. Some Tuesdays will be used to help with drawings. Sketchbooks will be graded based on individual improvement and creativity.

Class Participation - 40%
Students will receive a daily class participation grade based on the following criteria. Being to class on time and working diligently on your art assignments for 40 minutes then spending ten minutes cleaning up after yourself will earn you 20 points. (100 points per week on average)
The following will take away 10 points a day.
Tardiness, wasting more than 10 minutes of class time.
The following will take away 20 points a day.
Not cleaning up your mess.
