Your Social Studies class will analyze and interpret the three documents selected by the National Historic Association , the Emancipation Proclamation, the Gettysburg Address, and Civil War Diaries and Letters. Questions you should ask when analyzing the documents: Who wrote it? What was written? When did they write it? Where was it written? Why did they write it? How did they write it? Why is the document important? What lessons can be learned form the document? What was the authors intentions for writing the document? What is the main idea of the document?
After you thoroughly analyzed the documents you must now convince the National Historic Association that the document you analyzed should be etched into the stone center piece for the museum. To persuade the National Historic Association you must create a Power Point presentation trying to convince them your document should be the one selected for the center piece. Remember the more you know about your document the better your presentation will be.
